Our Mission StatementThe mission of the Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges, Inc. is to support and advocate for the seven wildlife refuges within the Savannah Coastal Refuges system and to promote public understanding of the need to protect and preserve wildlife and wildlife habitat. Here are some educational resources...The following links may be of interest to our friends. "The Joy of Snakes" is a video produced by Georgia Public Broadcasting highlighting our reptilian resources. It's narrated by Georgia naturalist Dick Flood (AKA Okefenokee Joe). It's about 58 minutes long. "This Land is Your Land" is an episode of GPB's Georgia Outdoors series that highlights publicly owned land in the Peach State. Look for some familiar faces in the section covering the NWR's. About 27 minutes. "Georgia's Marshes" is another Georgia Outdoors production focusing on the amazing salt-marsh environment of our area. About 27 minutes. "National Wildlife Refuge System: A Place for Wildlife" is an FWS video relating the history and mission of the National Wildlife Refuge System. About 12 minutes. "America's Best Kept Secret" is another FWS video highlighting a number of refuges across the nation. About 5 minutes. |
