Our Mission StatementThe mission of the Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges, Inc. is to support and advocate for the seven wildlife refuges within the Savannah Coastal Refuges system and to promote public understanding of the need to protect and preserve wildlife and wildlife habitat.

About The Friends...Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges, Inc., is a group of concerned citizens of coastal Georgia and South Carolina who share an interest in seeing that the seven National Wildlife Refuges within our area are maintained and protected as sanctuaries for wild creatures and the habitat they need to survive. We volunteer on the refuges doing maintenance and improvement projects, we advocate for the refuges to local and national elected officials and governing bodies, and we help provide the interface between the public servants who manage the refuges and the public. We also help staff the new Savannah NWR visitor center and operate "The Gator Hole", a nature and book store inside the visitor center (opening March 8, 2010). |
